Bill writes, “Please find (below) photo of Dad taken about 1928 or 1929 when he was at Winchester. It shows the uniform and cap badge current at the time. He told me that the uniform had been used by someone else and his mother washed it for him. It was made of Melton blue cloth and was stiff enough to stand by itself. At that time as only one other man besides Dad could drive at Winchester Dad acted as chauffeur to Major Nicholson.”

Ford Pilot with wartime blackout headlights

Steve Woodward writes: “As a point of interest the big Ford isn’t a V8 Pilot. It might well be a Ford V8 but its not a Pilot. I think it’s a 1938 Ford V8 Fordor (not a spelling mistake). This was the forerunner to the Pilot that was introduced in 1949.”
