Portsmouth Police Officers who died in the Two World Wars

An Annual Remembrance Service takes place in November each year, with serving and retired officers taking part, at the site of the Memorial Roll of Honour, in Portsmouth Guildhall.

at Portsmouth Guild Hall, 11th November 1996.

“May we give thanks with our presence here today to those who died in the service of their Country. Make us all worthy of our comrades who made the supreme sacrifice. We pray for guidance within our association and its Members.

May we all seek to remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves and are unable to care for themselves. Those who have lost loved ones or are sick and suffering ill health. Those who depend on us to remember them in their time of trouble.

May the comradeship which shone so brightly in time of war be reflected in our thoughts and care for others, today and always.”

By the hands of man has the roll of those we honour been prepared
